When are you open?
We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4:30pm, and every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm. We are closed over the Christmas holidays and Easter weekend.

Who can join?
We welcome children and adults with long or short term special needs, their families, teachers and therapists, groups and schools; or anyone with an interest in special needs -but all families are welcome to join our library.
How do I become a member?
Simply come into the Special Needs Library during our opening hours and sign up. We have eftpos available.
What kind of resources do you have?
We have over 3,500 specialist resources in a range of categories.
What age range do you cater for?
We have a wide range of resources suitable for all ages and stages, from birth to older persons.
How long is the loan period?
Each item can be borrowed for a period of four weeks.
How many resources can I borrow?
You can borrow up to eight items at any one time.
How much does it cost to hire resources?
The hire fees range between $1 and $7 depending on the value of the resource chosen,
Are there overdue charges?
Items must be returned four weeks after initial hire. After this time, an overdue charge will be incurred for each resource.
What happens if we lose a piece from a resource?
Please let us know if you are returning a resource with missing pieces. A charge per piece will apply if the resource is returned with missing pieces. If the pieces are still unable to be located, you will be charged for the replacement of the resource.
What happens if we break part of a resource?
Please discuss any damage with us when the resource is returned. Charges for the repair or replacement may apply.
Am I expected to clean resources?
The Special Needs Library recognises the extra challenges that our members face on a day to day basis and therefore we clean all resources upon their return.
However, we do ask that resources be returned in the same condition as they were issued, especially those that are used outdoors.
How is the library staffed?
The Library is run by volunteers supported by three part-time paid staff.
